Skin Care Products Course

August Newsletter 2007

Hello Everyone,

I am immersing myself in the beauty of Fall, the bright yellows, oranges and reds, songs from the birds, the stillness and the crisp, cool air.  The message for me to slow down came loud and clear after having  a flu bug for a week.

I finished my year long aromatherapy course.  Yahoo!  That was a big accomplishment for me.  Many times I wondered if I was going  to complete it.

I recently taught classes at method in Chicago.  First time visiting Chicago other than being in the O'Hare airport.  I loved it!  Read about the classes I taught here.   One of my highlights was eating at Oprah's chef, Art Smith's restaurant, Table Fifty-Two.  Read the story here.

I am doing a Well Being Expo, Sunday, Nov 16, in Sonoma, CA with my aromatherapy products; soaps, candles and natural body products.  If you are in the area, stop by and say hi.

Pumpkin Face Mask

Facial Masks help to remove dead skin and toxins.  They can also tone, moisturize, soothe and add vitamins to the skin. Pumpkin contains Vitamin A, C and natural fruit acids.  Vitamin A regenerates skin tissue and is vital for healthy looking skin.  Fruit acids dissolve dead skin cells and promotes radiant skin from the new skin cells.

Vitamin Rich Pumpkin Mask
1 tsp dried pumpkin pulp powder
1/2  tsp white kaolin clay
1/2 tsp colloidal oatmeal
2 drops carrot seed essential oil
2 tsps orange blossom water/hydrosol

mix thoroughly and apply to face and décolleté(your neck area)

Carrot Seed Essential Oil is an age-defying essential oil, it contains beta-carotene which the body converts to Vitamin A. Carrot Seed is highly rejuvenating and revitalizing.  Great to use for mature, dry and wrinkled skin.

When I was in Chicago I was so moved by this story Jamie told me.  PAWS, a successful No Kill humane organization accepts donations in honor of a beloved pet that has passed.  Oprah donated a suite for dogs in honor of her beloved cocker spaniel, Sophie, that passed away this year.  In the suite hangs a portrait of Sophie.

I thought this is such a good idea it should be offered in all animal shelters.  What a great way to honor the life of a beloved pet that has devoted its life to its owner and at the same time help other animals.  We adopted our dog, Benny, from our local animal shelter.  He passed away a year ago at 13 years old.  I still miss him.  In honor of Benny, I am donating money to our local shelter where we adopted him from and hope that I can hang his portrait there.
