Sugar Scrubs | Organic Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe

Sugar Scrub Recips

One of the secrets for beautiful skin is routine gentle exfoliation. Sugar scrubs are a great way for your skin to go from looking dull to radiant by removing the dead skin cells that sit on top of your skin. They leave the skin feeling soft and moisturized. Sugar is a natural preservative and moisturizer with natural alpha hydroxy properties. There is no need to use a lotion after use.

Basic Sugar Scrub Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup carrier oil
  • 3/4 cup- 1 cup sugar (If you want oil to sit on top, use 3/4 cup sugar)

Directions: Mix ingredients together. For a smoother and finer scrub, blend ingredients in a food processor.

Containers: It’s best to use plastic in the shower or bath. Glass can easily slip and break as the oils make the container slippery. An option is to leave the scrubs outside of the shower and use a small container to scoop your scrub into before getting into the bath or shower. Do not get water into the container with the scrub and store it away from sunlight and water and keep the lid on the product when storing it.

How to use: dampen your skin in the shower or bath and gently massage the salt or sugar scrub onto your skin. Rinse with warm water. Be careful, the tub or shower will be slippery after use. Try using no-slip mat.
After use: sprinkle the tub or floor of the shower with baking soda to absorb the oil and then rinse off with water.
