Beauty Trends, Part One: Rising Trends

Natural Body Care Products Beauty Trends

We read the Google Beauty Trends Report 2017 and are excited to share with you the top skin care trends. The report is based on users top search queries from September 2014 to September 2016, and it is categorized to identify top trends in skincare. In this three part blog series we will be going over the rising trends for the U.S., top trending skin care themes across markets, and skin care themes to watch.

First, let’s take a look at the rising trends.

Risers

Risers are those trends that have shown growth over the past years. There are Sustained Risers, those with steady growth and are considered safe bets; Seasonal Risers, those with seasonal trends that are likely to come back the next season even stronger; and Rising Stars, those that have a sudden recent growth, however this growth may not last.

For the U.S., Google reports the following for the top risers:

Sustained Risers

  • Epsom Salt Bath
  • Dead Sea Mud Mask
  • Apple Cider Vinegar Bath
  • Korean Skin Care
  • Bentonite Clay Mask
  • Tumeric Mask
  • Vegan Body Wash

Seasonal Risers

  • Bath Bombs
  • Face Mask
  • Aloe Vera Plant
  • DIY Face Mask
  • Face Brush
  • Organic Castor Oil
  • Vegan Chapstick

Rising Stars

  • Charcoal Mask

  • Sheet Mask
  • Bath Bombs with Rings

Vegan Skin Care

In the report, Google highlighted Vegan Skin Care as an important trend in U.S. skin care. Searches for vegan skin care have grown over 83% each year. At Joan Morais Naturals, all of our product formulas are vegan, meaning all of the ingredients are plant-based and do not contain any animal products nor are processed with animal products. Based on this information, it appears that as consumers are becoming more informed of what is in their skin care products, they are wanting more natural ingredients.

Making Natural Skin Care Products

The skin care market has been growing immensely and by 2024 it is expected to be an $180 billion industry! In 2016, 57% of U.S. women said it was important to buy all-natural skin care products.
